In addition to the available educational media, schools and other institutions located in the district can generally also borrow demonstration devices and other hardware from the media center or the district image center.
In most media centers, projection equipment such as projectors, video and photo cameras and projectors for a wide variety of film formats can be borrowed. Some media centers also lend out mobile devices, VR glasses, 3D printers, robotics equipment and audio equipment.

Media centers (formerly district picture centers) are facilities of the district and the independent cities. Among other things, they produce images, videos, DVDs and online media relating to the district and work together with museums and local history societies.
Schools, kindergartens, clubs, associations and similar institutions located in the district can borrow media from the media center or the district picture center that are in compliance with licensing laws. The streaming of online media is becoming increasingly important.
