Membership of the Versorgungsanstalt der deutschen Bühnen; transmission of information

The Versorgungsanstalt der deutschen Bühnen grants pension benefits in old age, in the event of occupational disability and to surviving dependants. To do so, it requires certain information from the new member.

Der Fragebogen kann per Post oder elektronisch, insbesondere per Kontaktformular übermittelt werden (siehe unter „Online-Verfahren“).

The Versorgungsanstalt der deutschen Bühnen (VddB) is responsible for German theaters. It offers (predominantly) artistic employees of German theaters additional insurance cover in addition to the statutory pension insurance in the event of old age, occupational disability and death.

Compulsory insurance begins at the same time as the employment relationship with (predominantly) artistic activity at a member stage and ends when the stage employee leaves the employment relationship or no longer receives remuneration despite the continuation of the same.

In order to verify compulsory membership, data must be submitted via the questionnaire to verify the requirements for compulsory membership.

During periods in which stage members are not employed, they can continue to be insured voluntarily after previous compulsory insurance.

Voluntary insurance is possible for certain self-employed artistic professional groups.

There is a dependent employment relationship with a member stage and you perform an artistic or predominantly artistic activity in return for payment.

Compulsory insured persons are registered with the VddB via a membership portal by their employers, who are member companies of the VddB.

At the start of membership of the VddB, the new member must complete the questionnaire to check the requirements for compulsory membership and send it to the VddB. The completed questionnaire (see under "Forms") can be sent by post or electronically (see under "Online procedure").

The member will then receive a membership certificate from the VddB by post.
