Good planning depends on reliable information. It is therefore important to continuously record, utilize and monitor spatially relevant facts and developments.
Spatial observation provides up-to-date information on location and living conditions and spatially significant developments in Bavaria in the form of data, graphics and maps as well as explanatory texts. It uses data from official statistics as well as geodata (basic geodata and specialist geodata).
The Spatial Information System Bavaria (RISBY), a geographical information system, is the specialist information system for state and regional planning in Bavaria. The content includes the spatial planning register (only within the authorities), regional plan and state development program as well as various maps and aerial photographs from the Bavarian Surveying Administration.
The information is published in the "Spatial planning report" and in the "Spatial observation data" (see "Further links").
The results of spatial observation are published in the state government's spatial planning report and in the "Data on spatial observation".
