If you are banned from driving due to a traffic offense, it is prohibited to drive motor vehicles of any kind or of a certain type on the road.
In the case of driving bans imposed by the Viechtach Central Fines Office, you can generally hand in your driver's license at any Bavarian police station. The driver's license can also be deposited by an authorized third party. In these cases, always take the fine notice with you when you hand in your driver's license.
The duration of the driving ban can be found in the notice. The police officer collecting your license will usually be able to tell you when it will be returned to you.
It is also possible to collect driving licenses due to non-Bavarian or municipal driving bans from the police if the driving ban can be assigned without difficulty on presentation of the fine notice. The police will then send the driver's license to the responsible fining authority. You must clarify the deadlines and return of the driver's license independently with the responsible fining authority. The enforcement period may be extended due to the forwarding of the driving license, as the date of receipt by the authority holding the license is generally decisive for the calculation of the deadline. Any delays will be at your expense.
If you have any questions or special requirements, please contact the issuing authority in good time. They will be able to help you in any case.
