Procedure details

Registration takes place online via the education management system (BMS). To register, the requirements for the respective course type must be met. The commander must confirm in BMS that the course requirements have been met. The application is forwarded to the government via the municipality and the office of the district fire officer in the district office / independent city. The registered participants will receive their course invitation by email in good time before the start of the course and must confirm this.

Course fee:

  • If members of volunteer fire departments, compulsory fire departments and professional fire departments take part in the courses, no fees are charged to the municipalities.
  • If members of plant fire departments take part in the courses, a course fee will be charged.

Meals and accommodation:

  • Members of volunteer fire departments, professional fire departments and compulsory fire departments as well as the special management ranks according to Art. 19 BayFwG receive free meals and accommodation while attending courses at the state fire brigade schools.
  • Members of plant fire departments will be charged for meals and accommodation.

Miscellaneous:

  • Necessary and proven travel costs of members of volunteer fire departments and compulsory fire departments as well as special management grades according to Art. 19 BayFwG are reimbursed. For distances traveled by regular means of transport, the necessary and documented travel costs up to the cost of second class including the expenses for boarding and alighting by regular means of transport will be reimbursed. For distances traveled in private vehicles, course participants shall be granted a mileage allowance per kilometer traveled within the meaning of sentence 1. If other course participants have been given a lift, compensation per kilometer can be claimed for the course participants who have been given a lift. Course participants who are taken along are not entitled to compensation for the distance traveled. If course participants within the meaning of sentence 1 travel in a company vehicle, the distance allowance shall be reimbursed to the institution of the respective department upon request. The amount of the mileage allowance is based on the provisions of the Bayer. Travel Expenses Act. Cab costs are not reimbursed.
  • For members of plant fire departments, loss of earnings and travel expenses shall be borne by the sending company.
  • For participation in training events, employees are entitled to time off with continued payment of wages, including fringe benefits and allowances. The private employer can claim reimbursement from the sending municipality for this.
  • Self-employed members of the fire department receive compensation for loss of earnings in accordance with the Bavarian Fire Service Act.
  • Special regulations apply to participants in EDP and KatS training courses.
