School authorities of private, state-recognized and state-approved secondary schools, grammar schools, Waldorf schools (from grade 5) and secondary schools receive a pension allowance for the teaching staff-related pension costs incurred for their teaching staff in the previous year.
The main basis for the calculation is the number of pupils on October 1, the resulting weekly teaching hours and the annual salary of a comparable, average state teacher.
In the case of evening grammar schools and evening secondary schools, the amount of the pension subsidy is limited to the actual teaching staff-related pension expenses of the school authority in the previous year, which is why the calculated full pension subsidy may not be granted.
In addition, the transitional provisions of Art. 57a of the Bavarian School Financing Act (BaySchFG) still apply to the pension subsidy for school authorities that were entitled to the subsidy under Art. 40 BaySchFG in the version valid until January 1, 2006.
Among other things:
Grants are usually awarded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs with a payment on account on February 15 based on the previous year's grant and a final payment including settlement on November 15 of the respective year.
The school authorities receive the application documents from the State Ministry at the beginning of the year and submit them in writing by May 31st of the year together with the necessary supporting documents.
The application is processed in the current grant year (financial year). The grants are also awarded in the same year.
After the statutory waiting period, school authorities of private secondary schools, grammar schools, Waldorf schools (from year 5) and schools of the second educational pathway receive a subsidy amounting to 65% of the operating subsidy in accordance with Art. 38 of the Bavarian School Financing Act.
