Stream sponsorships offer committed and environmentally aware citizens, especially young people, the opportunity to support those responsible for maintenance in the care and development of the water ecosystem, including its banks, with the aim of preserving or restoring it to a near-natural state. Stream sponsorships can help to promote both the biological effectiveness of a watercourse and public awareness for the preservation of intact, near-natural watercourses.

The tasks of stream sponsors can include

  • Assisting with maintenance and care measures, e.g. planting banks, cleaning campaigns
