Purpose

Reimbursement of expenses for the repair of direct damage caused by the natural disaster "Floods in May/June 2024" in the affected Bavarian areas to commercial and freelance business premises and business-related infrastructure with the aim of preserving businesses and restoring their operational capability. Indirect damage - with the exception of damage caused by emergency services and emergency vehicles - is not taken into account.

Object

Emergency aid is granted for

  • Investments (including restoration of the usability of company land and buildings, replacement procurement of movable fixed assets, including own work capitalizable in the balance sheet)
  • current assets (including inventories and goods)
  • Other services to remedy direct material damage (e.g. repair, cleaning and clearing work)

Eligible applicants

Eligible applicants are

  • Companies in the commercial sector and members of the liberal professions with up to 500 employees,
  • commercial providers of business-related infrastructure with up to 500 employees and
  • Owners of real estate used predominantly (more than 50%) for business purposes that is rented or leased to a company or a member of the liberal professions as defined in the first two key points under "Eligible applicants".

Type and scope

Emergency aid is granted from EUR 5,000 and is limited to a maximum of EUR 200,000. With regard to the scope of the emergency aid, a distinction is made between uninsurable, insurable and insured damage:

  • In the case of non-insurable damage, emergency assistance is granted for up to 50 percent of the eligible expenses.
  • In the case of insurable and insured losses, emergency assistance of up to 25 percent of the eligible expenses is granted.

Reimbursable expenses are up to the amount of

  • the repair costs of the damaged asset or
  • the difference in the economic value of the affected asset before and after the natural disaster.

The business premises and business-related infrastructure are located in Bavaria.

The flood damage was directly caused by the "Flood May/June 2024" and occurred in the period from May 31, 2024 to June 11, 2024.

Application

The application, including any necessary additional documents, must be submitted in writing and signed to the government responsible for the business premises.

Approval

The emergency aid should be approved by December 31, 2026 at the latest.

Implementation

The implementation of the approved measure must be limited to a reasonable period of time, generally no more than 36 months.

Proof of use of the emergency aid

Proof of the use of the emergency aid must be submitted to the granting authority within six months of completion of the measure on the basis of suitable documentation.
