The state advisory service on household services as an area of agricultural administration serves to qualify agricultural and household enterprises in the areas of farm management and income combination (EKK). This service supports the further development of farms in establishing an additional mainstay. This helps to mitigate structural change in agriculture.
The entrepreneurial potential based on the agricultural, domestic and other relevant training and further education of agricultural family members is utilized. Questions such as strategic farm development, socio-economic conditions and optimal office and work organization are answered.
The agricultural administration advises and qualifies farmers and their family members in the establishment and further development of an EKK. The focus of the EKK is on agritourism, direct marketing and farm gastronomy, domestic service businesses with delicatessen/party service and/or domestic services and family care as well as experience-oriented offers such as farm experiences, children's birthday parties on the farm, country adventure tours, offers from herb educators, garden farmers and farm tour guides. Other opportunities such as social farming are also developing. Cooperation and networking within agriculture and outside with economic and social partners strengthen and stabilize income opportunities and contribute to increasing the attractiveness of rural areas.
The EKK not only contribute to improving income in agriculture, but also build confidence in local agriculture by strengthening the "agriculture and society" dialog. Special emphasis is placed on sustainable management in all areas of advice and training. Advice is free of charge. In the case of qualification measures, a corresponding share of personal contribution is required.
