Mothers' and fathers' centers aim to provide a framework to relieve the burden of everyday family life and to organize it creatively. This includes open meetings, open cafés for mothers and fathers with their children as well as play and toddler groups or courses for children and parents. They are a good opportunity for families or mothers to get to know other parents and children and to make contact.
This can create neighborhood networks that offer support and security.
The centers are managed and organized by mothers and fathers themselves. The work is mostly done on a voluntary basis and everyone can contribute their skills.
Funding for mothers' and fathers' centers is intended to promote volunteering as such locally and to contribute to maintaining and creating positive living conditions for families and a child- and family-friendly environment. It is also intended to encourage the development of neighborhood and self-help.
The Free State of Bavaria provides long-term funding for the operation of mothers' and fathers' centers. The principle of self-organization and family self-help must be maintained.
Entitled to apply are legally responsible and non-profit associations of persons who are responsible for a mothers' and fathers' center.
Funding is provided as fixed-amount funding within the framework of project funding. The grant is based on the number of volunteer hours worked. Up to 600 hours per year per volunteer are eligible for funding. The fixed amount is between 3,850 and 14,720 euros.
Mothers' and fathers' centers can be funded on application if they meet the following requirements:
