Women affected by domestic violence and/or stalking can receive advice from an intervention center.
Intervention centers offer an accessible psychosocial counseling service for women affected by domestic violence and/or stalking who, for various reasons, do not seek help on their own initiative and have therefore been called in by the police.
The counseling mandate of the intervention center is limited in terms of expertise and time. If the woman affected by violence requires longer-term counseling, existing outpatient counseling services (e.g. specialist counseling centers, outpatient counseling centers of women's shelters) will provide further support.
Advice is given to women affected by domestic violence and/or stalking who do not seek help on their own initiative.
After the police operation, the police - with the woman's consent - send the contact details to the intervention agency.
The counselors then contact the woman. Initial advice is given over the phone and further advice and support is offered.
This counseling service is also called proactive because the contact is initiated by the counseling center. This also reaches women who do not take action on their own initiative and turn to women's shelters and specialist advice centers.
Women and their children who are acutely affected or threatened by domestic and/or sexualized violence in their social environment can make use of women's shelters.
