Procedure details

In response to the decline in insects, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection launched the Bavarian Flowering Pact in 2018 with the aim of protecting our native insects. Habitats for insects are being created with a variety of measures.

Stopping the loss of insects and other species groups is a challenge that can only be overcome together. Specific projects are being implemented with important target groups such as local authorities and businesses. In the Blühpakt alliances, associations and clubs continue to discuss the Blühpakt idea and work together with all citizens to make our environment more insect-friendly.

Blühpakt advice

The Blühpakt advisors support the Blühpakt Bayern in the implementation of measures in the seven administrative districts.

Their task is to advise local authorities on how their public green spaces can be enhanced in a natural, insect-friendly and nature conservation-friendly way. Nesting habitats and native plants as a source of food play an important role here.

They implement this with important players on site, such as the building yard, landscape conservation associations or district advisors. They are also the link between the local authorities, the lower nature conservation authorities and the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection.

In order to explain the changes to citizens and create acceptance, they also support the local authorities with public relations work. They also help with training courses and information events to explain the issues. In this way, they bring together the interests of nature conservation and local authorities and raise public awareness of the need to protect native insects.

Municipalities interested in receiving advice from the Blühpakt can contact the Blühpakt advisor in their administrative district.
