Land consolidation is an instrument for the sustainable development of the cultural landscape. The aim is to improve production and working conditions in agriculture and forestry, maintain and improve the performance and functionality of the ecosystem, protect natural resources (soil, water, air) and support the necessary expansion of infrastructure. Land readjustment can also reconcile economic and ecological interests in the cultural landscape. The Rural Development Offices offer technical, organizational, legal and financial support. This enables the comprehensive reorganization of land ownership, the implementation of construction and design measures, traffic development and improvement of infrastructure, water management measures, measures for leisure and recreation as well as measures for soil protection, nature conservation and land management to be implemented. Land consolidation strengthens economic power and improves the structure of rural areas as a place to live, work, recreate and enjoy nature.
The following expenditure is eligible for support in land consolidation
the planning and construction of roads and paths water management measures soil protection, nature conservation and landscape conservation measures measures for leisure and recreation land readjustment with surveying, demarcation and valuation the reorganization of vineyards and special crops.
Local authorities and associations of local authorities are eligible to apply.

In land consolidation, up to 50% of the participant's own contribution can be funded for agricultural land leased on a long-term basis.
To carry out a land consolidation, a procedure must be initiated in accordance with the Land Consolidation Act. For this purpose, municipalities or landowners submit a written application to the responsible Office for Rural Development. The office checks whether the requirements for carrying out a land consolidation are met and whether the parties involved are willing to cooperate.

The funding application must be submitted to the locally responsible Office for Rural Development.
Approval
Grants can only be approved if the project in question has not yet begun.
