Description
All consumer health protection and veterinary authorities and the State Office for Health and Food Safety, together with other public and private bodies working in the same field, support the population in maintaining and promoting health and creating and maintaining healthy living conditions.
In the interests of public health, the health authorities and the State Office for Health and Food Safety provide information on the possibilities of health promotion, prevention and the creation and maintenance of healthy living conditions. They suggest suitable health-promoting, preventive, environmental and socio-medical measures.
The prevention managers at the governments coordinate activities, encourage cooperation, support projects and strengthen local networks.
In addition, the prevention managers at the governments provide the lower health authorities with technical supervision in the context of health advice in accordance with the Prostitutes Protection Act (ProstSchG).
