LfA Förderbank Bayern (LfA) is the business development bank of the Free State of Bavaria, KfW is the development bank of the Federal Government.
LfA Förderbank Bayern (LfA) has been the state-owned specialist bank for the promotion of SMEs in Bavaria since 1951 and offers standard banking financing products - primarily loans and risk relief. LfA's range of financing instruments is aimed in particular at medium-sized companies based in Bavaria or wishing to invest in Bavaria. The loan products provide support, for example, for investments in start-ups and growth, energy efficiency, digitalization and innovation, but also for liquidity or profitability problems. In order to strengthen Bavaria as a business location, the LfA also supports infrastructure projects by local authorities.
As the promotional bank of the German federal government, KfW has been committed to improving economic, social and ecological living conditions worldwide since 1948. To this end, KfW supports companies from all sectors with standard bank financing products - primarily loans and risk relief. The loan products support, for example, investments in start-ups and growth, energy efficiency, digitalization and innovation, as well as liquidity or profitability problems.
KfW is the promotional bank of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is owned by the federal government (80%) and the federal states (20%). Its diverse tasks are divided into the following areas:
