Select your location for location specific information:
With the "Umweltinfo" app, you are warned immediately when natural or environmental hazards occur in the form of floods, storms, avalanches or when ozone limits are exceeded. At the same time, you can find out about the current environmental situation.
Set it once - always be warned or informed!
With the "Umweltinfo" app, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection wants to warn Bavarian citizens immediately when natural or environmental hazards occur in the form of floods, storms, avalanches or when ozone limits are exceeded. At the same time, citizens can find out about their current environmental situation.
Users can define up to five locations, e.g. residential, work and vacation locations, for which they can select the hazard warnings or environmental information that is important to them. For weather and storm warnings, they can set the warning level individually. They can also use GPS to find out about their current environmental situation at any time, regardless of their location.
As soon as there is a warning for one of their selected locations, the user receives a push notification on their smartphone. At the same time as the push message, a warning is displayed in the dashboard of their app. They can now send the warnings in their app to other people using a share/share function.
The user can also select additional information about the environmental situation in Bavaria for all specified locations. The current measured values for ozone, particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide, water levels at river gauges, forest fire risk, pollen count and low water forecast are displayed in the app's dashboard. The data used for this is based on measured values from the Bavarian State Office for the Environment or the German Weather Service (DWD).
We would like to thank the German Weather Service for the excellent cooperation and for providing the current weather and storm data, the pollen count index and the forest fire risk index, which you can use in the app.
