In Bavaria, you can call the standardized Europe-wide emergency number 112 around the clock to request help from the fire and rescue services. The emergency number 112 connects you to the local integrated control center - from all telephone networks, free of charge and without dialling codes.
Thanks to the integrated control centers in Bavaria, the emergency number 112 can also be reached by fax in Bavaria. This means that even people who cannot speak or hear can get help quickly. You do not have to enter a prefix when making an emergency fax call either.
You can find the "Emergency fax" form in the "Forms" section.
The five "Ws"
When requesting fire and rescue services, the integrated control center needs information from the caller about the five "Ws" in order to be able to alert a sufficient number of suitable emergency services:
Also provide "first aid" as long as you are not putting yourself in danger!
Help the emergency services to find the location of the incident!
Medical on-call service
If you need medical assistance outside the regular consultation hours of your family doctor for non-life-threatening health problems that do not make it necessary to call the emergency services, the medical on-call service will help you find a doctor. The medical on-call service can be contacted throughout Bavaria via the number 116 117 - free of charge from all telephone networks. You can find further information on the medical on-call service under "Further links".
The emergency number 112 can be reached free of charge from all telephone networks.
The rescue service facilities in Bavaria are largely financed from the contributions of those with statutory health insurance. Treatment and transportation by the rescue service and emergency doctor are subject to a charge and are generally paid for by the health insurance.
The rescue service includes emergency rescue, medically assisted patient transport, patient transportation, patient repatriation, mountain and cave rescue and water rescue.
