Procedure details

As a home economist, you will be responsible for the domestic care and support of senior citizens, the sick or people with disabilities.

You will provide support with housekeeping, organize domestic care in residential groups and involve the people in your care in domestic activities as far as possible. You take on basic care tasks and train employees.

In Bavaria, the governments are responsible for further training.

  • Vocational qualification as a housekeeper and at least 2 years of professional experience as a housekeeper or

To prepare for the exam, you will attend a course with approx. 750 hours of instruction at a qualified training provider. As a rule, the training takes place alongside your work. The course includes approx. 200 hours of practical work and lessons in a real company environment.
