The purpose of the funding is to grant the operators of these facilities a lump sum of a maximum of EUR 100 per unoccupied day up to a maximum of EUR 10,000 per year in order to cushion the special financial risks associated with the provision of these facilities.
The purpose of the funding is to relieve providers of full inpatient care facilities of the particular financial risks associated with the provision of short-term care places and to remove obstacles to the creation of short-term care places.
As part of project funding, a maximum of EUR 100 per unoccupied day up to a maximum of EUR 10,000 per place and year can be granted per project for the creation of new permanent short-term care places or the conversion of long-term care places into permanent short-term care places for a period of at least three years from the announcement of the grant notification.
The grant amounts to a maximum of 90 percent of the facility's individual daily rate.

Eligible applicants are providers of full inpatient care facilities that have a care contract in accordance with Sections 72 et seq. SGB XI and a remuneration agreement in accordance with § 85 SGB XI.
Eligible costs are those incurred for the provision of short-term care within the maximum funding limits
The grant is provided as shortfall funding as part of project funding. The approval period is three years. The grant per place amounts to a maximum of EUR 100 per unoccupied day and is capped at a maximum of EUR 10,000 per place and year, up to a maximum of 90% of the facility's individual daily rate.
The application must be submitted in writing to the Bavarian State Office for Care together with the required documents.
The Bavarian State Office for Nursing examines and decides on the application.
Grants are only approved for projects that have not yet been started. Therefore, no contracts (e.g. purchase contract, employment contract) may be concluded before the application procedure has been completed.
