The successful integration of people with a migration background or good prospects of staying is supported by the Free State of Bavaria through special integration projects (so-called "special measures"). Particularly innovative projects can be funded for a limited period of time.
Integration policy in Bavaria has a long tradition. Successful integration is facilitated by a wide range of assistance. The funding instrument of special measures can be used to support low-threshold, locally effective and sustainable integration projects for people with a migration background who are entitled to stay permanently and asylum seekers with good prospects of remaining in Bavaria in accordance with the Advisory and Integration Guidelines - BIR.
The aim of the funding is to support projects aimed at strengthening the integration process of people with a migration background and asylum seekers with good prospects of remaining in Germany.
Funding is provided for the project-related implementation of special measures within the scope of the purpose of the grant.
Recipients of funding are legally responsible organizations that have the necessary reliability and capacity to carry out these measures or whose previous activities suggest that they will successfully fulfill the purpose of the funding.
Project-related personnel and material expenses within the scope of the funding purpose are eligible for funding. The amount of personnel expenses eligible for funding is based on the maximum rate for personnel expenses.
The grant is awarded as partial funding within the framework of project funding; however, up to a maximum of 90% of the eligible expenditure.
State funding requires a contribution by the grant recipient of at least 10% of the eligible project expenditure, which can also be provided via third-party funds.
Funding is provided without legal entitlement within the framework of available budget funds.
In addition to observing the above-mentioned requirements and the information on the procedure, the project must not have been started yet.
Applications must be prepared using the forms available from the Government of Middle Franconia and submitted to them. A copy (with attachments) must be sent to the State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration. The applications must be accompanied by an expenditure and financing plan based on the flat-rate personnel expenses and an overview of the personnel deployed. In addition, a meaningful project concept must be submitted, in which the local situation, the measures planned in the project and the desired success (or how this will be achieved) are discussed.
The Government of Middle Franconia is responsible for approval. Grants can only be approved if the respective project has not yet begun. The approval period is generally the period from January 1 to December 31.
Applications for funding under the Advisory and Integration Guidelines - BIR for integration projects (special measures) must be submitted by November 15 of the current year at the latest for the following year.
Funding does not apply if other funds from the Free State of Bavaria are used for the eligible expenditure incurred. Complementary funding (co-financing) with funds from local authorities or the European Union is possible.
