Select your location for location specific information:
On behalf of the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry, the Bavarian State Institute for Agriculture currently operates a network of 132 agrometeorological measuring stations.
The distribution of the stations in the measuring network is based on the natural spatial structure of Bavaria and on production priorities in areas with special crops such as wine, fruit and vegetable growing. As Bavaria has a very small natural structure, weather conditions can vary greatly from one area to another. A relatively dense network of measuring stations is therefore required.
Advantages:
The continuous and detailed recording of weather data also forms an essential basis for research projects, for controlling irrigation measures, forecasting the ripeness of crops and calculating the risk of forest fires. The data is also used for flood warnings by the State Office for Environmental Protection.
