Attending the Fachakademie für Sozialpädagogik should enable students to work independently as educators in various socio-educational fields.
Training at the Fachakademie für Sozialpädagogik takes three years in full-time form and is offered in two variants. In the structured form of training, there are two training sections. Firstly, a predominantly theoretical training phase of two academic years takes place at the academy. This is followed by a second phase of training in the form of a twelve-month work placement supervised by the specialist academy. This serves as a professional introduction to professional practice.
In the practice-integrated form of training, theory (teaching at the academy) and practice (work in the institution) are closely interlinked over a period of three years.
The socio-educational introductory year (SEJ) is a vocational pre-training course for educator training. It is intended to qualify students for pedagogical work in a socio-educational field. The SEJ is divided into a predominantly theoretical part - lessons at the vocational academy - and a practical part - work in a socio-educational institution (socio-educational practice).
The practical part of the training can be completed in a preparatory school facility.
Professional guidance and supervision at the work placement location is provided by a pedagogical specialist at the preparatory school facility.
Teachers are appointed as placement supervisors for the professional supervision of trainee nursery teachers in the SEJ and for vocational trainees at the specialist academy.
The specialist training in the teacher training course for special needs education is supplemented by subject didactics for primary or secondary schools, a course in educational science and school internships.
