Subsidies that you receive from the Künstlersozialkasse are finally settled in the following year.
As a gainfully self-employed artist or journalist, you are entitled to subsidies from the Künstlersozialkasse (KSK) under certain conditions. The subsidies relate to the costs of your private or voluntary statutory health and long-term care insurance.
You may be entitled to these subsidies if you are
You will receive the allowances monthly as a provisional allowance. They are therefore advance payments on the final subsidy.
At the end of a year, you will receive a final subsidy statement. It is based on
The KSK compares the subsidies paid provisionally with your actual subsidy entitlement. This may result in additional payments or reclaims.
If you do not submit the information and documents on time, the KSK will demand repayment of the provisionally paid subsidies. You will also lose your current subsidy entitlement.
If you submit the documents later, a late grant settlement is possible. In this case, you can receive a provisional monthly subsidy again.
You must have received subsidies for your private or voluntary statutory health and long-term care insurance expenses in the past year.

Note: If the KSK has all the required information and documents, you can receive the statement of the grant earlier. To do this, you must submit the relevant information and documents correspondingly earlier. This can be done informally by stating your insurance number.
There are no costs for you.
Deadline for submission of complete documents for final grant accounting to KSK:
31.05. of the following year of the provisional grant.
