As a person who is gainfully self-employed in an artistic or journalistic capacity, you are, in principle, required to be insured under the statutory pension, health and long-term care insurance scheme via the artists' social insurance scheme.
However, this is only the case if there are no exceptions or if you are insured in another way. If there is a fundamental change in your professional situation, you must inform the Künstlersozialkasse (KSK) immediately.
