External take-offs and landings are defined as take-offs and landings of aircraft
Outside take-offs and landings require permission from the aviation authority. The responsible aviation authority can issue these permits for take-offs and landings in Bavaria. There is no legal entitlement to the granting of permission.
Permission for an off-field landing is not required if the location of the landing cannot be determined in advance due to the characteristics of the respective aircraft (e.g. gliders or balloons) or if the landing is necessary for reasons of safety or to provide assistance in the event of danger to life or limb (e.g. rescue helicopters).
In the period from June 1 to October 15, take-offs and landings for helicopter sightseeing flights in tourist areas (in the area of responsibility of the South Bavarian Air Office) are generally not permitted.
