Purpose

The purpose of the grant is to create and maintain accommodation for trainees in a state-recognized training occupation and students at vocational, technical and master craftsman schools and technical academies who are completing their training in Bavaria.

Object

The object of the funding is

  • the construction, extension and initial purchase of accommodation for trainees,
  • the conversion of living space for trainees and measures for comprehensive energy modernization,
  • the acquisition and modification of buildings that were previously not used for residential purposes into living space for trainees.

Type and amount

The subsidy is granted as a credit/loan.

Funding is provided in the form of a non-performing building loan of up to EUR 45,000 per single room and up to EUR 26,000 per double room with a 25-year commitment. The grant can be increased by up to EUR 15,000 per residence for wheelchair-accessible apartments.

The construction loan can also be increased for eligible expenses for the construction of necessary elevated or underground parking garages, for concept-related structural measures arising from requirements from the operating license, for extraordinary project-related additional costs and additional costs for increased planning effort, for particularly sustainable ecological measures and for competitive procedures for the awarding of planning services, such as architectural competitions.

Prerequisite for the promotion of housing for trainees:

  • a sustainable need for at least ten residential places at the location
  • a convenient location
  • For the duration of the occupancy commitment (25 years), the residential places may only be made available to needy trainees in a state-recognized training occupation and students at vocational, technical and master craftsman schools and technical colleges; up to 20% of the residential places may be allocated to students
  • Appropriate sizes and costs
  • Proven economic viability of the project
  • An operating license for facilities in accordance with Section 45 SGB VIII is required to occupy the residential places with underage trainees
  • Compliance with the maximum permissible rent for empty rooms (EUR 260 or EUR 280 in areas with increased housing requirements) and the furnishing surcharge (EUR 16 per month per accommodation space)

Beneficiaries are property owners, leaseholders or purchasers. And in particular non-profit organizations, non-profit welfare organizations and youth welfare organizations, vocational training providers, associations of professional and trade associations, municipal companies and municipalities.

Exclusion criteria:

Measures that have been started without the approval of the granting authority will not be funded.

The application for funding must be submitted to the responsible approval office (the government, the city of Munich, Nuremberg or Augsburg).
