If you hold or have held a service driver's license from the Federal Armed Forces, the Federal Police or the police, you can be issued a general driver's license for the relevant categories under simplified conditions.

A service driver's license from the Federal Armed Forces, the Federal Police or the police only entitles you to drive service vehicles. It is only valid for the duration of your employment.

However, you can obtain a general driving license in the form of an EU driving license on the basis of your service driver's license upon application to the local driving license authority.

If you apply for a driving license after your employment has ended, the driving license authority may order a driving test if there are facts that justify the assumption that you no longer have the required knowledge and skills.
