Hiking and cycling, learning about species and nature conservation and enjoying regional products: The UNESCO Rhön Biosphere Reserve is full of treasures to discover. The 3D app is the ideal personal assistant. The unique landscape with its diverse cycling and hiking trails is shown as it really is. All important geographical information is incorporated into the map. An exact location function allows you to check your own position at any time. You can switch between 3D map, topographical map and aerial view at any time. There are also seasonal maps for summer and winter!

And so the Rhön, the "land of open spaces", with its numerous tourist lighthouses such as Wasserkuppe, Kreuzberg, Schwarzes Moor and Rotes Moor or Point Alpha, becomes a virtual experience even before you start. These can then be experienced on site, for example on the premium hiking trail "DER HOCHRHÖNER" and the numerous extra tours. The experience of nature in the Rhön is enhanced by information and adventure offers that convey the objectives of the UNESCO biosphere reserve.

There is also lots of exciting information about wild nature and webcams that provide up-to-date images.

A great function for a tour experience in virtual reality is the "Virtual Panorama": Here you can view a 360° panorama from any location, enriched with additional information such as mountain names and heights or interesting points such as restaurants - try it out!

And if you would like to track your routes: users can record their own tours with the built-in tracking tool. When the function is activated, the user's own position, the route covered, the duration of the tour and the current altitude are displayed with pinpoint accuracy. Photos can also be saved via "My tour" and stored in a personal tour book. The tracking function makes it easier to find your way through nature.

Whether a star park tour with a certified star guide, a tour with the ranger in the Red Moor or a relaxed open-air event with brass band music - the biosphere app provides a fascinating educational and adventure program - and there is something for every taste. Visitors can find out about the offers before their visit and register with the organizer in good time.

As there is no nationwide mobile phone connection in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve, the app was also created for offline mode. Downloading the map leads to increased data volumes. We therefore recommend downloading one or both parts of the map via WLAN.
