Green development plans can be drawn up in particular for
- safeguarding and maintaining open spaces, including the design of the townscape and the development of green infrastructure in residential, commercial and other built-up areas,
- the design, maintenance and development of parks and other green spaces, bodies of water with their banks, urban forests or other larger open spaces of particular importance for settlement-related recreation and the immediate outskirts of towns and villages,
- Design, maintenance and development of sub-areas of certain cultural landscapes with their respective cultural landscape elements as well as areas of particular importance for recreation in the open countryside
The municipality is responsible for drawing up green space plans. As a rule, green space planning is integrated into the development plan. It can also be drawn up as an independent plan. This is binding for individual citizens.
