Counties and independent cities can award cultural prizes to deserving personalities in cultural life.
The culture prize can be awarded for achievements in the fields of literature, music, visual arts, local history, photography and film, for example.
In some districts and independent cities, only proposals from citizens can be considered. In some cases, it is not possible for artists and cultural workers to submit their own applications. The award winners are usually nominated or proposed by a cultural committee, an independent cultural award advisory board or a commission.
Further information on the culture prize in your district or city can be found on the Internet or from the local authority itself.
The districts can honor deserving citizens with their own awards.
