Government grants are intended to make it easier for women with a migration background and women with speech and hearing impairments to access the support system when they are affected by violence. In addition, counseling specialists are to expand their skills in designing a counseling setting with interpreters through further training measures.
The object of the funding is expenditure on language and sign language interpreting services and further training measures incurred in connection with the counseling and support of women affected by violence with a migration background or with speech and hearing impairments.
Language interpretation can also be provided via video or telephone conference.
Recipients of funding are the providers of state-funded women's shelters, specialist advice centers (emergency calls), intervention centers and second-stage projects that are members of an umbrella organization of non-statutory welfare services.
Eligible expenses include the hourly remuneration incurred for the interpreting service itself and compensation for any travel time of the interpreter. Eligible maximum amounts have been defined. Also eligible for funding are expenses for provision costs for a telephone interpreting service (including one-off set-up costs), expenses for a webcam to the extent necessary and expenses for training measures to expand skills for the organization of a consultation setting with interpreters.
The state grant is awarded as part of project funding as partial funding with a maximum limit.
The language and sign language interpreting services must be provided in connection with the counseling and support of women affected by violence in accordance with the tasks set out in the guidelines for the funding of women's shelters, specialist counseling centers (emergency calls) and intervention centers in Bavaria dated 24.02.2022 or in the currently valid version; this also includes counseling and support for women affected by violence in state-funded second-stage projects.
The training measure must aim to train the counseling specialist to design a counseling setting with interpreters (e.g. also for telephone or video interpreting).
The grant recipient must contribute ten percent of the eligible expenditure.
Complete funding applications must be submitted to the Government of Middle Franconia no later than one month before the start of the funding period using the application form provided for this purpose. The application must be based on a realistic estimate of requirements, taking into account the use of interpreting services in previous years.
The project start date (start of the approval period) can be 01.01., 01.04. or 01.07. of the respective financial year. The approval period ends on December 31 of the respective financial year. Retroactive funding is not possible.
For administrative reasons, applications for grants of less than EUR 200 cannot be considered.
