In Germany, the vast majority of people in need of care are cared for at home by relatives and loved ones. Home caregivers often reach the limits of their physical and mental capacity, which is why the Free State of Bavaria promotes offers of support in everyday life to counteract excessive demands. In order to further expand support services and develop new innovative concepts, Bavaria also promotes the establishment and expansion of voluntary structures and self-help in the care sector.
Funding can be provided for care networks, training and further training for volunteers and other offers for the training and development of groups of volunteers and other people willing to get involved in civic engagement.
The costs of the offer are eligible for funding.
The grant is provided within the framework of project funding.
Funding is provided at flat rates depending on the offer, as specified in more detail in the notes on the implementation of AVSG Part 8 Sections 5 to 8.
25% of the funding is provided by the Free State of Bavaria and 75% by social and private long-term care insurance.
The individual requirements for the recognition and funding of such offers are regulated in Part 8 Sections 6 and 8 of the AVSG and the instructions for the implementation of Part 8 Sections 5 to 8 of the AVSG. Depending on the type of offer, proof must be provided that the relevant qualification and quality criteria have been met.
The application must be submitted in writing or electronically to the Bavarian State Office for Nursing. The forms provided must be used.
Funding is provided without legal entitlement within the scope of available budget funds.
