Viticulture; application for volume compensation (single-farm scheme)

For vineyards belonging to winegrowers' cooperatives and producer associations of other legal forms within an area, a quantity equalization can be applied for.

Bayerische Landesanstalt für Weinbau und Gartenbau

Procedure details

Within the framework of the maximum yield per hectare regulation (total yield per hectare), the vineyards of winegrowers' cooperatives and producer associations with a different legal form can be considered as a single operation within an area and carry out a quantity equalization of wine from vineyards in an area within the member association. In this way, excess quantities from one member can be offset by reduced yields from another.

If a member of a winegrowers' cooperative or producer association with a different legal form delivers its entire harvest as grapes or grape must to the winegrowers' cooperative or producer association, the law allows the calculation of surplus quantities to be carried out not for each individual member, but for the total of all members making full deliveries. The entire vineyard area of all members subject to full delivery is considered to be one wine-producing operation. This regulation applies analogously within a self-marketing winery.

Full delivery obligation of the respective member for grapes or grape must from all its vineyards.

Only vineyards within one area may be balanced with each other.
