The recognized eye tests are subject to government supervision. The government checks whether the eye tests are carried out properly and whether the requirements for recognition are (still) met.
To this end, recognition holders must generally submit a test report to the government every six months. In addition, statistical records of the eye tests carried out must be submitted (number + pass/fail).
The government can carry out the test itself or have it carried out by an expert appointed by it.
Note: The supervision of opticians' businesses as officially recognized eye test centers is generally assigned to the opticians' guilds (for opticians' businesses in Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria, Upper Palatinate, Upper Franconia, Swabia to the State Guild Association of the Bavarian Opticians' Trade, for opticians' businesses in Middle Franconia and Lower Franconia to the Opticians' Guild of Middle Lower Franconia), and is therefore generally not carried out by the governments.
The eye test center must be recognized.
