Voluntary district and town fire councils, district fire inspectorates with their volunteer fire departments, cost bearers, districts, municipalities and authorities can obtain advice from the government's specialist advisors for fire and disaster protection (FBBK). They offer technical advice on fire prevention and preventative measures that are necessary to ensure fire prevention.
In particular, the specialist advisors for fire and disaster protection provide technical support
- with alarm and deployment planning
- in the procurement of vehicles, equipment and means of communication for fire departments
- training, further training (including site training) and exercises
- in the planning and operation of fire stations and training facilities
- on issues relating to respiratory protection, extinguishing agents, extinguishing methods, extinguishing water supply and NBC operations
- inspecting fire departments in accordance with the Bavarian Fire Brigade Act in special cases
- enforcement in accordance with the Bavarian Fire Service Act
- in disaster control, including the training and equipment of the emergency services
- during fire department operations, in particular in the event of major incidents, also on site on request
- carrying out fire inspections
- in the preparation of fire department requirement plans
- in preventive and structural fire protection for the state building authorities, building approval authorities and other authorities and offices
- in the assessment, recognition and inspection of plant fire departments by the government
- Support and cooperation with the district fire brigade association
- for questions regarding BOS digital radio
Further tasks:
- Multiplier and mediator between the fire department schools and the fire departments
- Collaboration on training documents for the fire department schools
- Technical review of grant applications in accordance with the fire department grant guidelines (e.g. fire department vehicles, fire stations and their equipment), including checks as part of the grant procedure
- Technical opinions on fire protection in immission control procedures
- Expert opinions on land use and development plans
- Participation in incident inspections with the district fire officer and the district administrative authority (disaster control) on special occasions
- Organization of fire department meetings
- Technical handling and review of deployment statistics and strength reports from the fire departments
- Collaboration in the disaster control management group of the respective government
