Procedure details

Education is one of the key factors for successful integration. Since 2016, the Free State of Bavaria has enabled supplementary language support programs and other school integration projects. The so-called "funds for third-party staff" are used to employ people who carry out language support programs and intercultural projects alongside lessons.

Within the framework of the budget funds made available, schools can apply for the employment of so-called third-party staff if at least five, and in exceptional cases three, newly immigrated children or young people with increased language support needs can be supported.

In principle, schools apply for a measure for third-party staff to the responsible school supervisory authority, which checks the suitability of the content and the basic mathematical accuracy of the measure with the responsible government if necessary. Before the measures are approved following an examination of the content, it must be clarified with the responsible department of the respective government whether sufficient funds are available within the allocated budget. The applications are finally approved by the responsible government. The contract with the third party is then prepared.

The application documents should be submitted to the government in good time before the intended start of employment so that the contract can be issued and the remuneration paid in good time.

Upon submission of complete recruitment documents, contracts will be drawn up as quickly as possible.

The third-party employee can only commence work after the third-party funds have been approved, an extended certificate of good conduct has been submitted and a fixed-term agreement has been signed.
