The following district facilities play a central role in vocational education and training:
- Vocational trainingcenter for the hearing and speech impaired
Vocational training centers are supra-regional facilities for the initial vocational training of young people with disabilities who, due to the nature and severity of their disability, are dependent on special training support. The district of Middle Franconia and the district of Upper Bavaria are responsible for the vocational training centers for the hearing and speech impaired in Nuremberg and Munich. All seven Bavarian districts are involved in the funding on the basis of a special-purpose agreement. Both vocational training centers are open to all Bavarian trainees with hearing and speech impairments as well as non-Bavarian participants in the same way. The employment agency responsible for the place of residence - vocational guidance for the disabled - decides whether training in a vocational training center is necessary and also covers the costs. The vocational training centers in Nuremberg and Munich include the training area, accompanying services and the vocational schools for special educational support, with a focus on hearing and speech.
The training courses offered include hospitality, metal, home economics and wood. - Vocational training center
The vocational training center is a public institution for the vocational rehabilitation of young people and young adults with learning disabilities. As a rule, these are graduates of schools for individual learning support if they require special assistance to successfully complete a vocational training measure. In the vocational training center, the district acts as a trainer, i.e. it concludes training contracts with the students, but does not maintain its own workshops, but uses the training workshops of industry and the trades. The costs of the practical training are covered by the employment agency. In addition, the facility offers pre-vocational training (BvB) for young people who have not yet reached the stage where they are ready to choose a career or start training. The vocational training center comprises the training area, accompanying services and the vocational schools for special educational support, with a focus on learning. The training courses offered include hospitality, metal, home economics and horticulture. - Vocational school for nursing
In their vocational schools for nursing, the districts impart all the knowledge required to practice the nursing profession in a three-year training course. The legal basis for this is the Nursing Act. The schools are affiliated to the district hospitals. Cooperation agreements with somatic clinics guarantee high-quality training in all areas of nursing. After successfully passing their final examination, graduates find their professional tasks in clinics as well as in all areas of outpatient and inpatient care and nursing. The Bavarian districts thus provide an indispensable offer for the nursing professions in Bavaria.
Entry requirements are: - Completion of the 17th year of life
- Health suitability for the profession
- Secondary school (or equivalent school education) with at least two years of successful attendance at a nursing prep school or
- Hauptschule (or equivalent school education) with at least two years of completed vocational training or
- Secondary school (or equivalent school education) with completed training as a nursing assistant or - Secondary school certificate or equivalent completed ten-year school education.
- Vocational school for music
The 1. The 1st Bavarian Music Plan and the resolutions of the Council of Ministers require a vocational school for music for every district in Bavaria. The aim of this type of school is to train qualified amateur music leaders and part-time church musicians in a two-year full-time course. The training period concludes with a state final examination. In addition, it is possible to obtain a pedagogical qualification in a third school year to teach the lower and intermediate levels of the completed main subject at singing and music schools. At the same time, the training also serves as preparation for the entrance examination at a specialized academy for music. Vocational schools for music thus form the first stage in a three-tier system of musical vocational training (vocational schools for music - specialist academies for music - universities of music). Admission to a vocational school for music requires passing an aptitude test. With an average grade of at least 2.50 in the final certificate of the vocational school, graduates can be awarded the intermediate educational qualification. In addition to the specialist training, the educational goal of the vocational school is also achieved. -
Agricultural training colleges
The term "agricultural training colleges" usually covers various institutions in the field of agricultural education. For example, agricultural training colleges are used for the inter-company training and further education of farmers or those interested in horticulture and landscaping. The following facilities, among others, are part of the agricultural training institutes:
- Agricultural training companies
- Agricultural machinery schools
- Vocational schools in the agricultural and home economics sectors
- Advice and training courses for renewable energies
- Adult education courses in the field of agricultural engineering
Extracurricular education - youth education centers
Youth education work helps young people to engage with the world around them, provides guidance and support for personal development, reflects on questions and answers to social developments and encourages creativity.
In the youth education centers, young people can obtain information in courses, seminars, conferences and training courses and deal with their questions and problems. The focus is on the training and further education of voluntary youth leaders as well as the further education of full-time employees in youth work.
Depending on their function and sponsorship, the youth education centers are therefore of central importance for extracurricular educational work within an administrative district. This is why the districts support the work of youth education centers with a supra-regional catchment area.
