Please send the completed application and the documents by post to the Government of Upper Bavaria.
The Government of Upper Bavaria will check whether the services provided are equivalent. This will be checked in each individual case on the basis of the supporting documents.
The processing time is usually 2-6 weeks. In individual cases (e.g. if there are no comparable cases), the documents are sent to the Central Office for Foreign Education in Bonn for review. In such cases, processing may take longer than 6 months.
The competent authority of the federal state in which the applicant is enrolled or admitted to study dentistry is responsible for recognition. In the case of applicants who are not yet enrolled or admitted to study dentistry at a German university, the competent authority of the federal state in which the applicant was born is responsible. In all other cases, the State Examination Office of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf is responsible.
