On the basis of a vocational qualification as a farmer, gardener, winegrower or home economist (rural home economics), attendance at a one-year technical college, for example the agricultural college, and a corresponding three-year period of professional practice, further training to become an agricultural accountant takes place.
Office clerks with an agricultural occupation or an occupation in the upstream or downstream sector can also take this further training examination.

The advanced training course takes place at the Jungbauernschule Grainau (district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen) and comprises 21 teaching weeks with 840 teaching hours and 11 practical weeks. The practical weeks, which divide the teaching weeks into individual blocks, are completed in selected agricultural accountancy offices or tax consultancy firms.
