Widows, widowers and surviving partners of a marriage-like union of victims of the effects of both world wars can apply for benefits in accordance with the Fourteenth Book of the German Social Code (SGB XIV).

This form can be submitted electronically (e.g. via a secure contact form using your user account with login via the electronic ID function or the ELSTER certificate) or handwritten and signed in paper form to the responsible authority.
If injured parties die as a result of an injury, their widows or widowers can receive a monthly compensation payment (MEZ). If injured persons entitled to benefits die of non-injury-related illnesses, widows or widowers can be granted a (partially lower) widow's allowance (§ 71 Seventh Book of the Social Code, SGB VII). Widows and widowers are equivalent to surviving partners in a marriage-like relationship, provided that one partner has died as a result of the injury and the other partner is caring for a joint child without gainful employment. This entitlement exists for the first three years of the child's life.

Monthly compensation payment
It is granted to all widows and widowers regardless of income in the amount of EUR 1,103 per month.
Entitlement to the CET ceases if widows or widowers or surviving partners of a cohabiting couple (re)marry.
You must submit the application for benefits to the Zentrum Bayern Familie und Soziales.
