The Free State of Bavaria promotes sports work groups (SAG) as a voluntary, qualified joint offer from schools and sports clubs to supplement compulsory sports lessons.
The funding is intended to support the operation of sports work groups (SAG) as a voluntary, qualified joint offer by schools and sports clubs to supplement compulsory sports lessons and thus create an incentive for pupils to take part in various sports. In addition, cooperation between schools and sports clubs is to be promoted.
With the support program, which is also known as "Sport nach 1", the Ministry of Education and the Bavarian State Sports Association set out in 1991 to provide pupils with a qualified sports offer in the afternoon that complements their PE lessons through cooperation between schools and sports clubs. To this end, sports clubs conclude a contract with a school interested in cooperating to run a SAG. The SAG should consist of at least 10 pupils. It is led by qualified trainers from the sports clubs or by teachers.
The object of the funding is the costs of running a sports work group.
Sports clubs are eligible for funding.
The funding consists of the granting of a lump sum to the sports club towards the costs of operating the SAG. The amount of the lump sum depends on the budget funds available and the number of SAGs set up throughout Bavaria. For the 2019/2020 school year, the Free State of Bavaria strengthened the Bavarian cooperation model "Sport after 1 in schools and clubs" and increased the SAG lump sum as a special token of appreciation for the voluntary work carried out in sports clubs. In previous school years, the SAG lump sum amounted to € 94.25 for 35-38 school year lessons (1 hour (45 minutes each) / school week) and € 188.50 for 70-76 school year lessons (2 hours (90 minutes each) / school week).
A contract between the sports club and the participating school regarding the establishment of a SAG must be submitted by October 31 of each year and an application for payment of the SAG lump sum must be submitted (cut-off deadline!).
Once the SAG contract has been concluded between the club and the school, the SAG lump sum can only be applied for online at the State Office for School Sports.
The application must be submitted by October 31 at the latest for the respective school year (cut-off deadline!).
Sports clubs are school events. This means that the participating pupils are insured against physical injury under the statutory school accident insurance. Membership of a sports club is not required.
There are currently 81 sports on offer as part of the support program. Further sports can be applied for via the respective sports association of the Bavarian State Sports Association, provided that an appropriate number of cooperations in this sport can be expected.
If the objection has no suspensive effect, an application for suspension of enforcement can be made to the original authority or the objection authority in accordance with Section 80 (4) VwGO. Instead, an application for an order or restoration of the suspensive effect of the objection can be made to the competent Bavarian Administrative Court in accordance with Section 80 (5) VwGO.
Please note: If it concerns the demand for public charges and costs (§ 80 Para. 2 Sentence 1 No. 1 VwGO), an application to the court is generally only admissible if the authority has previously rejected an application for suspension of enforcement (§ 80 Para. 6 VwGO).
